Biographical History

The Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Latin: Congregatio Sanctissimi Redemptoris) is a Roman Catholic missionary congregation founded in 1732 by Saint Alphonsus Liguori at Scala, Italy. The order was introduced into Australia from England in 1882, with the first WA community being established in 1899. In 1902, work began on the construction of a monastery in North Perth; the work was completed in September 1903.
