Biographical History

Dwight Plympton Conklin (b. 1829, Mexico, NY, d. 1856, San Francisco, CA) was a Gold Rush miner who travelled from Mexico, Oswego County, New York, to the gold fields of Sierra County near Downieville. After mining in Downieville briefly, where he found little success, he moved to San Francisco where he lived with his cousin Henry B. Janes before dying of unknown causes in 1856.
