In December 1963, ground was broken for the first major buildings on the University of California, Irvine campus, and in January 1964, construction began. The initial structures that were included in the first Long Range Development Plan included Library-Administration, Commons, Humanities-Social Science, Fine Arts, Natural Sciences and Science Lecture Hall, Central Plant, Campus Hall (later Crawford Hall), and Mesa Court. Architectural plans for most of these structures are included in this collection.
