Biographical History

Arizona pioneer, rancher and naturalist.

Ila Harrison was born in 1900 at Duquesne in Washington Camp near the Huachuca Mountains in Arizona. During World War One she worked for the Duquesne Mine in many capacities. While attending the University of Arizona, she worked hauling ore to Mexico and became acquainted with Pancho Villa. Married to John Healy in 1920, she lived with her army officer husband at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. After he retired, they bought a ranch at Carr Canyon, where Ila resides today. In addition to ranching, she has intrest in Arizona wildlife and hunting.
