Biographical History

Professional Secretaries International is a nonprofit association founded in 1942 to improve secretarial performance standards through continuing education. The organization became international in 1954, with the addition of Canadian chapters. By 1997, PSI spanned five continents and claimed a combined total of over 9,000 non-U.S. affiliated members. The Twin Forks Chapter of Grand Forks, North Dakota held its first meeting on October 4, 1963. Sponsored by members of the Red River Chapter of Fargo, North Dakota, it was the second chapter formed in the state. The Twin Forks Chapter is a member of the Minnesota-North Dakota Division, which consists of 14 chapters in the two states. The group meets monthly and combines business and social activities. Activities include seminars, conventions and hosting speakers. The Twin Forks Chapter-PSI is affiliated with the United Way and the Arthritis Foundation.
