Robert E. Weintraub (1925-1983) taught economics at Northwestern University, City College of New York and University of California, Santa Barbara from 1955-1973. From 1973-1983, he served as an economist with several congressional committees, including the House Banking and Currency Committee, and Joint Economic Committee. Weintraub was author of numerous books and articles on monetary policy including "Introduction to Monetary Economics" (1970).
