Biographical History
Several members of Fairbanks Lutheran felt the need for a congregation at North Pole. In April of 1975 Lowell Stime was called as Assistant Pastor of Fairbanks Lutheran and organizing pastor at North Pole. The first service there was held on June 15, 1975. Organization Sunday was October 26, 1975, and in February of 1976 there was reception 101 charter members. The summer of 1976 was spent building a parsonage and beginning a church facility. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held July 18. The congregation used the unfinished church for special services until they moved there on a permanent basis on May 1, 1977. Dedication of the completed structure took place October 30, 1977, which also marked the Second Anniversary of the congregation.
The Church has had 6 pastors as of 2012. They are: Lowell Stime, Paul Daniel, John Voelker, Shelley Wickstrom, Kathrin Radach, and Amanda Kempthorne. Interim pastors were: Eldon Lyso, Richard Noeldner, Robert Swope, Jon Gilberts, Ed Baltzeren (1994 and 1998), Dick Thompson, and Paul Balaban.
