Biographical History
Charles H. Jones operated the Jones Studio out of his residence at 1113 Spruce St., Boulder, with his wife Matilda, from 1904. When Jones, who was born in New York state on 26 Dec. 1856, died on 7 July 1924, his wife continued to operate the studio. She married Robert E. Galvin of Boulder ca. 1928-1930, and apparently left the Boulder area after Galvin died at age 61 on 6 Feb. 1930. She returned to Boulder before she died. Both Charles and Matilda are buried in Columbia Cemetery.
Charles H. Jones came west in 1880 and located in Denver, according to his obituary in the Daily Camera on 9 June 1924. Later he went into mining at Silver Plume, then switched to the shoe business in Aspen. On 15 Feb. 1903 he married Matilda Ohm or Owen; when they moved to Boulder, they built a combined photograph studio and home at 1113 Spruce St. Jones died of tuberculosis.
