Biographical History

The Three Rivers Shakespeare Festival was co-sponsored by the City Theatre for its first two seasons and is run by the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Theatre Arts.

The Festival has employed many well-known people, including: A. Favorini, who served as the Festival's director for many years; Gillette Elvgren, who was also director; and Ralph Allen, who premiered his "A Horse of a Different Color" at the Festival.
