Thomas Marshall served in the Kentucky state congress and the United States House of Representatives.
U.S. representative of Kentucky and army officer.
Thomas Francis Marshall was born in Frankfort, Kentucky in 1801 to Dr. Lewis Marshall and Agatha Smith. He was a lawyer, state legislator, and congressman for Kentucky. He also served as a captain in the Mexican War. His uncle was Chief Justice John Marshall. In various cities, he delivered a series of lectures on historical subjects and achieved some fame as an orator. He died near Versailles, Kentucky, on September 22, 1864.
