Polish-born American translator and editor; known particularly for translating children's books, including those by Isaac Bashevis Singer.
Elizabeth Shub worked as an associate editor of children's books for Harper & Row, for Scribner's Sons, and for Macmillan. Her translations have been awarded the ALA Notable Book citation (1969, 1971), Horn Book Honor List citation (1968, 1971), Newbery Honor Book citation (1966, 1968).
