Biographical History

W.A. politician. Speaker of the Legislative Council 1886-1890 and the Legislative Assembly 1890-1903. Early career was in merchant navy where he became commander of the "Devonshire". By 1861 was a pastoralist at "Jayes" Blackwood with 100,000 acres. Resided in Perth after 1888.
