Lisko, Louis F., d. 1998.

Corporal Louis Lisko was a radio operator for Headquarters Company, 2nd Ranger Battalion. He was born in Pennsylvania in a family of Czech-Slovak descent. In 1942 he worked in a steel mill but was soon drafted into the army in July 1942. He was sent to the 80th Infantry Division in Nashville, Tennessee. In March 1943, Louis Lisko volunteered for the new 2nd Ranger Battalion. Louis Lisko was wounded at Pointe du Hoc, France but survived. He was awarded the Silver Star for valor during D-Day. After the war he returned to Pennsylvania. In his spare time Lisko became the 2nd Ranger's historian and collected documents pertaining to the unit. After the war he returned to Pennsylvania. Louis Lisko passed away in 1998. His ashes were spread on the Pointe, June 6, 1999.
