Biographical History

Malvern-Hill Barnum (b. Sept. 3, 1863, Syracuse, New York-d. Feb. 18, 1942), brigadier general in the U.S. Army, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1886, and was wounded at the battle of San Juan Hill in 1898. He was appointed commander of the 183rd Infantry Brigade in 1917, serving in France until the end of World War I when he became chief of the American Section of the Inter-Allied Armistice Commission. He retired from Army in September 1927.
