Biographical History

Charles Garlen (1898-1992) emigrated with his family from Bialystock, Russia in 1906 to escape persecution directed against Jews. He and his family moved to Glens Falls in 1911. He owned and operated Queen City Bakery in Glens Falls from 1927 to 1967. He was involved in numerous charitable and civic activities.
