Biographical History

Helene Berg (née Nahowksi) was the wife of Alban Berg; they married in 1911. Eric Hagen was a retired publisher and civil servant from Berlin who lived in New York City; he wrote to Alma Mahler in response to her memoir And the Bridge Is Love, on the occasion of the anniversary of Gustav Mahler's death in 1960.
