Arthur Jacob Marder was professor of history at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, 19__- c. 1964.

He joined the University of California, Irvine faculty in 1964 as a founding member of the History faculty. He was Professor Emeritus of History and later retired in 1977. He wrote more than 12 books on the history of the Royal Navy from the pre-dreadnought era through the First and Second World Wars. Marder died in 1980.
