Biographical History

Elliston was an English actor and theatrical manager, as well as lessee of the Surrey Theatre, London, beginning in 1809. He later served as manager of the Drury Lane Theatre.

Robert William Elliston was an English actor and theatre manager. In 1819 the Drury Lane Theatre and all its accompanying rights were leased to Robert Elliston. He went bankrupt and was unable to renew his lease in 1826.
