Biographical History

John Woody Papworth (1820-1870) was a British architect and antiquary best known for his heraldic reference book "Ordinary of British Armorials."

He was the first son of John Buonarotti Papworth (1775-1847), a prolific British architect much employed in the alteration and decoration of country homes, who published drawings and essays.
