Thomas Man (1655-1690) was born at Helmsley, the son of Thomas Man, vicar of Northallerton, Yorkshire. He was admitted pensioner of Jesus College, Cambridge, on 12 June 1671, and matriculated in 1672 (B.A., 1675; M.A., 1678; M.D., 1687). He was Rustat Scholar, 1672, and a Fellow of Jesus, 1676-1690, and was incorporated at Oxford, 1681. He was ordained priest in 1674.
