Father of Frank and George Murphy.
John F. Murphy was born in June 17, 1849 in Guelph, Ontario, of American parents. He graduated from the Law School of the University of Michigan in 1881, then later moved to Harbor Beach, Michigan where he entered private practice. In addition, Murphy served as prosecuting attorney of Huron County, city attorney of Harbor Beach, and member of the Democratic State Central Committee. He and his wife Mary Brennan Murphy were the parents of sons George, Harold, and Frank, and daughter Marguerite.
