As of 2001, Harvard House, located in Stratford-upon-Avon, England - the birthplace of William Shakespeare - is administered and maintained by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and has no grant from the university or any other source. Rebuilt in 1596, it was once the home of Katharine Rogers, mother of John Harvard. It was bought for preservation in 1910 and presented to Harvard University by Edward Morris of Chicago.
