Biographical History

Granddaughter of Henry Cordes Brown, founder of the Brown Palace Hotel (Denver, Colo.). Reporter for the Rocky Mountain News (Denver, Colo.). Commentator on Denver (Colo.) radio station, KOA and a pioneer television hostess on KFEL-TV. Public relations representative for the Junior League, Denver Dumb Friends League, Red Cross and Central City (Colo.) Opera. Second husband, Jerry Vasconcells, was Colorado's only flying ace during World War I. After his death in 1950 she married George Bakewell, Jr., a Denver, Colorado advertising executive.
