Dance Chronicle: Studies in Dance and the Related Arts, a scholarly journal, began publishing in 1977 under the imprint of Marcel Dekker, Inc.
George Dorris and Jack Anderson were founding editors of the publication and continue on in this capacity. The journal, which currently is published three times a year, covers a wide variety of topics relating to dance, including music, theater, film, literature, painting, and aesthetics. Individual issues have been devoted to Moscow's Island of Dance, August Bournonville, and the Carmago Society. Articles have ranged from renaissance and baroque dance to dance for Broadway, Hollywood films, and British television. The journal attracts and publishes the contributions of established dance historians, as well as a new generation of scholars.
