Country music performer. Born June 28, 1924. Died July 7, 1975. Recognized for his smooth singing style. Grand Ole Opry performer 1948-1956 and 1959-1975. Television show host on WLAC-TV, Nashville from 1956-1959. Popular recording artist, his hits include "Candy Kisses," "Rainbow in My Heart," and "Room Full of Roses." Member, Country Music Hall of Fame.
