The Dept. of Nursing Education originated in 1899 as a course offered in the College's Dept. of Domestic Service. It was established as a department in 1910, and was headed by M. Adelaide Nutting, the first nurse to hold the title of professor in a university. The department played a pioneering role in nursing education.
