Collection contains taped interviews, video recordings, and film regarding the history of Flagstaff, Arizona, 1953-2001.
Photographs within these collections depict the Northern Arizona region in and around the Flagstaff, Arizona area during the period of 1883 to the present. Subjects include: buildings of the original and subsequent town sites; pioneer families; public works projects; community events; portrait collections from local studios; Native American activities; farming and ranching; the timber industry and other commercial activity.
Historical note: Organization established by the Arizona Territorial Legislature in 1864. Officers included President Richard C. McCormick; Vice Presidents William Walter, Capt. A. L. Anderson, Gilbert Hopkins, and Thomas Bidwell; Corresponding Secretary W. Claude Jones; Recording Secretary James S. Giles; Treasurer James Garvin; Librarian Lieut. Charles A. Curtis; and Directors Edward D. Tuttle, Samuel Todd, Norman S. Higgins, Henry A. Bigelow, Herman Ehrenberg, and Richard Gird.
