Biographical History

John O'Kane Murray wrote Popular History of the Catholic Church in the United States. John Talbot Smith was a priest, a novelist, founder of the Catholic Summer School of America, author of History of the the Diocese of Ogdensburg (1885) and History of the Catholic Church in New York, and editor of the Catholic Review (1889-1892). Isaac Hecker founded the Paulists. Daniel Hudson edited The Ave Maria.
