Congregational minister and political activist.
Sydney Dix Strong was born in 1860. He attended Oberlin College from 1877-1884. Strong served as a Congregational minister in Illinois and Seattle, Washington, and as a missionary to South Africa, 1903. He wrote on pacifism and other social movements. The family included wife Ruth Tracy Strong, daughter Anna Louise Strong, and his son, Tracy (1887-1968). Strong died in 1938.
