Biographical History

Ruth Van Sickle Ford was a painter and the first woman admitted to the Palette and Chisel Club in Chicago. She was president and owner of the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts from 1936 to 1960, her best known students were Walt Disney and William Mauldin.
