Biographical History
Daniel Edward Williams was born on 23 December 1802 in Penally, Pembrokeshire, Wales, to John Williams and Ann Griffiths. His first wife died in 1846 while still in Wales leaving Daniel with 2 children, John and Mary. After years of searching for a religion that accorded with his beliefs he was taught the gospel by Elder William Davies and baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 18, 1847. He later immigrated to America in 1853 with his new wife Mary Howells, whom he married on 1 January 1852. Daniel settled in Tooele, Utah, where he worked a small farm. He entered into the practice of plural marriage on 13 July 1870 when he wed Catherine Jenkins, Jane Philips, and Mary Scourfield in Salt Lake City. He died on 5 June 1882 in Tooele, Utah.
