Biographical History

Brigadier General Theodore M. Osborne graduated from high school in 1923 and entered the Coast Artillery School at Fort Monroe, Virginia. He transferred to the Corps of Engineers and attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. In 1925 Osborne graduated and attended the Engineers School at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Afterwards, he was stationed in Hawaii for a little over two years. He attended the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. From there, Osborne was assigned to Portland, Oregon, then Dallas, Texas. While stationed in Texas, Osborne was temporarily promoted to brigadier general. He served a tour in Iran and became the commanding general of IX Corps to spy on the Russians. It was after World War II that Osborne retired as a lieutenant colonel, but shortly after his retirement Congress passed a law that allowed him to retire as a brigadier general.
