Biographical History

Nauvoo Legion was official name of Utah Territorial Militia, first organized in 1849 under auspices of State of Deseret. Daniel H. Wells served as lieutenant general; adjutants were James Ferguson, Hiram B. Clawson, Thomas W. Ellerbeck, and John R. Winder.
