Founder of movement to restore Mount Vernon, home of George Washington; native of Rosemont plantation, Laurens County, S.C.
Laurens (Laurens Co.), S.C. resident.
Ann Pamela Cunningham founded the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association of the Union in 1853 to purchase and save George Washington's Mount Vernon estate. Dr. John Bellinger (M.D., Univ. of Penn., 1826) was a prominent Charleston physician.
