Biographical History
Fred(erick) Gwynne was born July 10, 1926 in New York, NY, and died July 2, 1993, in Taneytown MD. He was an actor, author, and illustrator. Following a successful stage and movie career, he is probably best known for his two TV roles as Officer Muldoon in Car 54, Where Are You? and as Herman Munster in The Munsters. After his acting career peaked he wrote several children's books, illustrating both his own works and those of other writers. Several of his book titles indicate an appealing sense of humor.
