Biographical History

First performed in Paris at Duprez's École du chant on the rue Turgot, 7 April 1854; the librettist was his brother Edouard Duprez; it was refered to as an operetta, and the title was given as Jélyotte, ou, Un passe-temps de duchesse. Cf. Revue et gazette musicale, 9 April 1854.
