Freeze Voter '84 was established in 1983 as a political and lobbying arm of the nuclear arms freeze movement; changed name to Freeze Voter in 1985; headquarters moved from St. Louis, Mo. to Washington, D.C. in 1984; Executive Directors: William Curry (1983-1984) and William (Chip) Reynolds (1984-1989); worked with the electorate and with legislators; trained activists in political skills through its National Training Institute and local training sessions; in February 1989, two segments of Freeze Voter (Freeze Voter Training Institute and Freeze Voter Education Fund) voted to merge with the Professionals' Coalition for Nuclear Arms Control; the third entity, Freeze Voter PAC, elected to maintain a separate legal status.
