Biographical History

Known through most of his career as "Adrian", Gilbert Adrian was born in Connecticut as Adrian Dolph Greenburg. His designs for Broadway include George White's scandals and Nifties of 1923 but much of his career was spent in Hollywood, designing for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 1925-1939. He retired in 1952 but returned to Hollywood in 1958 to design Camelot, for which he posthumously received a Tony Award.
