pp. 68-69. 1763-06, William Foster reported that he had read the testimony against Thomas Dudley and wife according to appointment, and returned it, which is as follows: Whereas Thomas Dudley and Martha his wife have had a sober education in the way of the people called Quakers, notwithstanding which, they, for some time, have appeard to be led by a vain mind, and of late they have so far trampled upon the comely order and testimony of Friends as to accomplish their marriage by a hireling minister, and thereby contribute to their support, which we have, ever since we were a people, been persuaded that it is contrary to the Gospel dispensation, and therefore cannot join therewith; for which conduct and breach of our Christian testimony, we find ourselves engaged thus publicly to testify against them: the said Thomas Dudley and Martha his wife, not to be of our society until they come to a sense of their outgoings by marks of true contrition, notwithstnading we find it our duty to testify against such undue liberty for the clearing of the truth we profess. Yet, feeling bowels of near regard, we earnestly desire they may as the prodigal son return with true penetence. Given forth at our monthly meeting held at Evesham this 10th day of the 3rd month 1763.

p. 109. 1765-02. Thomas Dudley produced and acknowledgement on behalf of himself and wife for accomplishing their marriage by an hireling minister, which was read and referred to further consideration.

p. 114. 1765-04, the Friend appointed reported that had read Thomas Dudley and wife's acknowledgement according to appointment, and returned it, which is as follows: To the monthly meeting to be held at Evesham next, dear Friends, we the subscribers hereof, having had our education amongst the people called Quakers, but by our misconduct in accomplishing our marriage by an hireling minister, have thereby brought great sorrow to ourselves, and Friends. But we hope our future conduct will reconcile us to Friends again, which is the desire of, Thomas Dudley and Martha Dudley, the 7th of the 2nd month, 1765.
