Haas was born April 15, 1873 in California, MO; BA, Stanford Univ., 1898; LL. B., DGS, George Washington, P.G. Olympic, 1931; high school teacher (1895-1905); clerk, US State Dept. (1905-6); Los Angeles deputy city attorney (1907-13); deputy county counsel (1913-18); judge, Los Angeles Municipal Court (1926-31); became a judge, and later a presiding judge (1948), Los Angeles Superior Court; president, Avocado-Citrus Co.; vice president, Dell-Osso Mining and Milling Co.; lecturer on law, radio stations KFI and KECA; lecturer on California history, KRKD; wrote a book, Lawyers I have known and their cases (1953?) and an autobiography titled, California reverie; died in 1960.
