Biographical History

Dr. Murphy and his wife Grace E.B. Murphy sailed on Nov. 22, 1924 to South America for a three month expedition. The objective was to attend the Third Pan-American Scientific Congress in Lima, Dec. 1924 and then to continue to Ecuador, meet Van Campen Heilner, and resume ornithological and oceanographic field work from the point where he had left it in 1920 while on the Brooklyn Museum Peruvian Littoral Expedition.
