Represented Australia at World Economic Conference, 1933, League of Nations, 1933-1938, Montreaux Conference, 1936 and at Imperial Conference, 1937. High Commissioner for Australia in Great Britain, 1933-1945 and represented Australian Government in War Cabinet and Pacific War Council.
