John William Prichard (Prisiart), 1749-1829, of Plas-y-Brain in Llanbedr-goch, Anglesey was the son of William and Jane Prichard of Glasfryn Fawr, Llangybi, and later of Bodlew, Anglesey.

He was born in 1749 and was married first to Catherine, daughter of Dafydd Roberts of Plas Llandyfrydog. His second wife was Gwen, the daughter of William Owen of Crafnant, Llanfair, Merioneth and they had four daughters (Gwen, Elizabeth, Catherine and Margaret) and one son (William).

John William Pritchard was an antiquarian who was often called in as an arbitrator by opposite parties to provide his opinion and advice in cases regarding the transfer of land. He was also a surveyor of highways in Anglesey.

He died in 1829 at the age of 80 and was buried at Llangwyllog, Anglesey.
