Biographical History

Abigail L. Mott, daughter of Adam and Ann Mott, was born in 1795, a birthright Quaker. In 1813 she married Lindley M. Moore (1788-1871), the son of Samuel and Rachel Moore. Their daughter, Mary H. Moore (1825-1844), died just months after her marriage to Elijah Pope. Another daughter, Ann Mott Moore, born in 1818, married Emmor Haines, son of Reuben and Anna Haines, in 1843. Their oldest son, Alfred Haines, was born in 1846 and married Emily Potter, the daughter of William and Martha Potter. Alfred Haines was the grandfather of William S. Haines, born in 1910.
