Biographical History

The second oldest ALC congregation in Montana, Trinity was organized in 1891 to serve the mining communities in the Castle Mountains of Central Montana. Services were held on an irregular basis, usually in private homes. The congregation centered in Lennep, a ranching community, and in 1914 a new church was built. In 1960 the congregation purchased a church, which had been used by the Episcopal Church in Martinsdale, 12 miles east of Lennep. The pastor from American Lutheran of Harlowtown and Grace of Barber goes to Lennep and Martinsdale to conduct services, serving in each community twice monthly.
