Biographical History

Dr. Harry Dyme was born in 1912 and worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in the Aero-Medical Laboratory, as chief of the nutrition section, through the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. In 1940, he was elected to the Chicago Section of Society Affairs of the American Chemical Society. Most of his publications came in the 1950s and related to his work in rations and food and water for the US Air Force.

In 1950, he led an experiment to field test survival rations for arctic conditions taking place in Alaska for ten and a half days. In addition to the field test for the rations, psychological and physiological tests were conducted.

Dr. Harry Dyme died in 2003 at the age of 91.
