Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Douglas Treat Davidson was born on 3 July 1912 in Philadelphia, PA. He was commissioned in the Army Medical Corps through the Organized Reserve Corps while in medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. He was called to active duty in March 1941 at Fort DuPont, DE and trained at the Medical Field Service School, Carlisle Barracks, PA. He was severely wounded at Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge and was sent to England to recuperate. He returned to his unit in late spring 1945 and to the United States in September 1945. In his discharge medical examination, he was discovered to have tuberculosis and was hospitalized until discharged on 4 April 1946. He returned to medical practice, becoming a pediatric neurologist. He died prematurely on 25 Aug 1964 from cancer and complications from pulmonary tuberculosis.
