Biographical History
Born March 6, 1918 in Bay City (Mich.), Cederberg served in the U.S. Army, 1941-1945, and was discharged as a Captain. He earned a Bronze Star. He was part of the 83rd Infantry Division which landed at Normandy. He married Arlene Munro in 1942 and they had two children, Thomas and Marilyn. The marriage ended in divorce. In 1958 Cederberg married Marguerite "Peg" Kletchka. He served as Mayor of Bay City, 1949-1953, and as the Representative of Michigan's 10th Congressional District, 1952-1978. Following his defeat in the 1978 election, Cederberg worked as a consultant for several companies in Alexandria (Va.). He and Peg later retired to Fla. Peg and Elford both died in Fla., she on March 1, 2006 and he on April 16, 2006. His funeral was held in Bay City (Mich.).
