Biographical History
Born in Canada, joined the LDS church in 1837, member of the Mormon Battalion, settled Parowan, Santa Clara and Kanab, where he lived in the United Order.
Zadok Knapp Judd was born on 15 October 1827 in Bostort, Canada, to Lucinda Adams and Arza Judd. He was baptized a member of the LDS Church in 1837 and a year later his family moved to Kirtland, Ohio. They, along with other LDS saints, were forced from Kirtland to Far West, then to Nauvoo. Judd was apprenticed as a tinker-tailor in Nauvoo. He joined the Mormon Battalion in 1846, worked in California for a short time, volunteered in the Provo War in 1849, served a mission with Jacob Hamblin, and helped build the St. George temple.
