Biographical History

McIntire was born in Cambridge, Mass. and studied law at Harvard Law School in 1860. During the Civil War he fought with the Forty-fourth Massachusetts Regiment. He was admitted to the Suffolk Bar in 1865. He served as a member of the Common Council of Cambridge, as a member of the Board of Aldermen, and as a member of the state House of Representatives (1869-1870). He also served as assistant district attorney for Middlesex County and city solicitor for Cambridge.
